An advanced degreed Analytical Chemist and EU-Certified Cosmetic Safety Assessor, I spent 36 years as an Analytical Research Chemist, Product Safety Manager and Global Regulatory Affairs Director...all to help prestigious brands like P&G, Crabtree & Evelyn, Bath & Body Works and Abercrombie & Fitch consistently develop personal care products to the highest regulatory and safety standards.

Moreover, I am a member of the Society of Toxicology (SOT) and currently serve as the Vice-Chair of the PCPC Safety & Regulatory Toxicology Committee (SRTC).

A deeply rooted and both theoretical and applied knowledge of  chemistry informs my ability to help clients navigate a burgeoning number of regulations governing so-called Chemicals of Concern (CoCs). This includes California Proposition 65, Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) under REACh, and the CARB VOC Regulations. From 1993 I have not only helped companies submit every CARB VOC Survey but have also helped a company successfully respond to a CARB TM310 challenge and (in partnership with the PCPC) have given two recent technical presentations to CARB. Moreover, I can not only help you identify any CoC present in your formula, but also suggest safer alternatives, sometimes called "Non-Regrettable Substitutions".
